                     Followers Walk In The Spirit

 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:5 RSV

Finding our sufficiency as a follower of Jesus is a lifetime of living out our experiences with each new day. Do we always recognize the presence of ‘The Voice God’s Spirit’ in us? His indwelling Spirit is our resource to take hold of and to lead our thoughts and our actions. We will set our daily responsibilities and tasks with good organization skills. But are we dedicating those tasks and responsibilities seeking God’s presence to show us the way? Being mindful every day , ‘greater is He who is in us….’ gives us motivation to listen to the presence of God’s Spiritual Voice talking to us.

Every day we do things so remotely, getting dressed each morning, fixing our breakfast. For mom’s getting their children off to school, and dad’s taking action to their responsibilities at work. How mindful are we recognizing… all this, because of grace, we’re crediting God’s sufficiency to lead, and witness His Spirit at work in us?

All my working years , if I’m honest with myself, my academic credentials and work responsibilities, really were with God leading me. Even now, in my lay pastoring, I dedicate my heart for His Spirit to write my messages. What I share must be on the foundation of Jesus, for His honor. Not just standing before others to listen to me, but desiring those listening, to be encouraged and strengthened by God’s presence.  As the Son of man also came not to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many.

Father, by the presence of your Spirit in us to lead, help us listen to the Voice and Life of Your Spirit at work… Amen
