 God’s Temple Is ALL For God’s Glory

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 RSV

Earlier in this chapter  the Apostle Paul wrote that all things might be lawful in our culture according to man’s value. But we’re to recognize as followers of our Creator, God’s purpose and vision for us, not the desires of the ‘the pride of life.’ Especially considering the concerns about Temptations that come. Because we are His ‘personal property,’ so the ‘voice of His presence’  is far greater and sufficient to show us the way of escape.

As God’s servants we learn never to elevate ourselves apart from seeking to honor His presence in us. For sure, it can be a lifetime of growing and learning, living out our experiences as representations of Christ in us. Learning the voice of His word becomes  our sword of defense, as the Psalmist proclaims;

Bless the Lord, O you his angels,  you mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word! Psalm 103:20

Harkening to become doers of God’s word give promises to us, as His way of escape over temptations thrown at us. This really is the beauty of building deep roots instructed us from Colossians 2:7. Since we are representations of His Temple by way of His Holy Spirit, active and working in us. We indeed, are not our own! Being more mindful Who we are honoring will certainly help us to be the ‘overcomer’ God wants us to be. The price Jesus paid for our redemption reveals we are not our own as insignificant, but bold to proclaim Him.

Father, thank you for helping us never to marginalize our responsibility to becoming ‘doers’ of your word, but give you all the glory as Living Temples,  amen.
