“Everybody’s making such a big deal about it! I’m a Christian too but it doesn’t offend me!”
Sounds familiar?
It is such a shame that many ‘Christians’ today are making the big mistake of shrugging aside direct and obvious insults against our faith and more so against the One we believe in.
We hear of television series portraying Jesus having swearing matches with the Devil, and the star of said show would be defending it simply because ‘he’s a Christian and it doesn’t offend him.’
Big deal! The issue here is not whether any Christian is offended! The issue here is whether Christ Jesus is offended! It’s bad enough that atheists and other non-believers laugh their heads off every time Jesus is treated like some low-level mascot…but why must his so-called ‘followers’ defend the wrong treatment of him too? I know because I made the very same mistake once! I tried to justify insults against Christ because I thought it hadn’t offended me. I had forgotten that I had no right to justify anything because it wasn’t me being insulted. It was Him.
I am not sugar-coating this for anyone. The harsh reality is that many Christians today are selfish people who think only of themselves! They feel that only when they are personally offended will they do anything about it…but never once did they consider the fact that maybe someone a whole lot more important than them has been affronted!
And they wonder why Christians are always the butt of cruel jokes?
Listen to me! When will you start treating Jesus as he is? That despite being God, he is also a Man…a Man who knows how to get angry and who knows how to weep.
If you were Christ, would you be pleased to become the laughing stock of media?
How then can you say that ‘it’s alright because it doesn’t offend you?’ Remember to see things through Christ’s eyes, not your own. Feel things through his heart, not yours. Always remember that by portraying Christ in any other way than what he had shown the world, you would be blaspheming him. Doing so will, without a single doubt, crucify every single thing he lived and died for.
The next time you see a controversial issue coming up, remember to ask yourself not what you would feel about it…but what Jesus would.

Very impressive! I like your "tell it like it is" style. Just what we need these days. Jesus loves you. :o)
Amen! We have to ask ourselves what's most important to us... what's easy for us, or how Jesus feels about it. Personally, if you offend Jesus, you've offended me. Now just watch... He's gonna throw a test out there for me. haha
