“The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in you; for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds among the people. When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble.” Psalm 9: 9-12

The LORD is the most intelligently sought refuge. The oppressed in wisdom will seek Him out and in times of trouble, He is a safe haven. Those who have sheltered in Him in the past (known His name) will resort to Him again and again.

Why can the seeker carry out his search in confidence? Because He has NEVER forsaken those who look for Him in every situation for help. Praise is found on the lips of those who have sought and found the LORD in His grace.

What He has done is to be declared for He remembers His people. The cry of the humble who recognize their utter and total need of Him will not be ignored or forgotten by Him.

Because the LORD is a trusted refuge, I endeavour that He be my first resort, for all other appeals for protection and prevention are futile in comparison to His presence. May I ever seek and find by His grace and for His glory.
