Kind and Patient

I worry very easily.
I was sitting in a chair where I could see a small patch of the back lawn through the glass door.
I was thinking about death, that divine appointment which we must all keep one day.
Yesterday I was told that my next-door neighbour and friend, Henry, had died. Of cancer.
Six months ago, my darling wife died. Of cancer.
I was in a real downer. Without any positive thoughts at all.

But then! My kind and patient Saviour spoke to me!
Not audible words, but he spoke!
A small brown sparrow came down on the lawn to feed.
Immediately, Jesus reminded me of what he had said when he was on earth among troubled people.
“Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29, 31. NKJV.

Do not fear!
Thank you, Lord.
Thank you ever so much, Jesus, for your kindness and your patience!
