Lydia was a ‘seller of purple’ in the city of Thyatira. She believed in God and regularly met with other people to pray beside the river. One day, Paul the apostle joined them and began to preach. We’re not told what he preached but
Lydia was convicted of her spiritual need. The power of the Holy Spirit came upon her and “opened her heart to respond”.
In many of our meetings today how much we need something of that heart-opening power of God the Holy Spirit!
It’s fairly easy to be religious.
It’s easy to pay lip-service to God’s truth.
But could many of us be transformed if the Holy Spirit of God opened our hearts to respond?
Come, Lord, come!
