Is  ‘Our Caanan’ with Milk and Honey?

Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. Hebrews 4:11 NASB 1995

God promised he would deliver the Israelites from Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, a land flowing with milk and honey. That is to say without slavery and oppression, and fear of harm. Yet because of their own rebellion, disobedience, wanting to be like nations they were to conquer, they suffered. The first generation perished in the desert without tasting the joy and purpose God was to give them.

That rest, of many followers of Jesus today, also, are struggling with not recognizing what it means to deny ‘self.’ For the intimacy of our Lord’s desire and love. His abiding presence to let Him, God’s Holy Spirit, rule in us. Daily being fed the manna, of His Holy Word to enrich our soul. 

 For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.  For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself? Luke 9:24-25

I witness so many, even within my own fellowship, who live in too much fear, rather than knowing the abiding power of His presence. Indeed, without true faith it is impossible to please Him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe he will reward those who truly seek to know and put Him first, most, and foremost!  

What are we about each day? Whether driving off to a work environment, attending school, remaining home with children, or preparing for next Sunday’s message for worship, is the Voice of God’s Spirit leading us for the day?

 Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3

There’s no better instruction to begin each day, than listening to the ‘Voice of God’s Presence’ lead us!
