Jesus’ final journey to Jerusalem was interrupted near Jericho.
A blind beggar sitting beside the road heard lots of people walking by. When he asked what it was all about, they said, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”
Immediately the blind beggar shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
When they told him to shut up, he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
So Jesus stood still!
A beautiful interruption!
So Jesus stood still and commanded them to bring the beggar to Him.
Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord, that I may receive my sight.”
So Jesus said, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.”
Immediately he received his sight.
Never once has Jesus refused to respond to the cry of a needy soul.
Hallelujah!
