As I went to sleep one night, I heard the Lord call my name, so I knelt down upon my knees, I knew I would never be the same. I said you know the person I have been, unworthy and in sin, Jesus, reach down for me, Come and be my dearest friend. Jesus reached down for me and embraced me so very tight, He claimed me as His child, on that very late summer night. So unworthy of His love, and yet, He first loved me, Jesus came to where I was, and now my closest Friend is He. Still today, walking with Jesus, He joins closely by my side, always there when I need Him, and when I need a faithful Guide. He has promised, I will never leave you, through whatever comes your way, and when you need a faithful friend, I am forever One to stay. If you need a dearest friend, He will meet you where you roam, just turn your eyes on Jesus, You do not have to walk alone, When He calls you by your name, just talk to Him in prayer, Jesus, a Friend so true, He no doubt will meet you there. Jesus, Reach down for me, Come embrace me in this place, Overwhelm me with your love, and by Your tender grace, I need You to walk with me, For, I cannot make it on my own, Jesus, Reach down for me, and I will never walk alone.
