I slept in the darkness
Lost in hope and despair.
I awoke to the light of his promise
His mercies are new every morning.
I was plagued at night
With questions and doubts.
The morning brought me answers in faith
His mercies are new every morning.
I tossed and tossed in the shaky seas
My life tilting like a sinking boat.
The dawn welcomed me
A reassuring smile from the sun.
His mercies are new every morning.
I was gripped with pain.
Anxiety getting the better of me.
The new day came with a special healing
His mercies are new every morning.
His mercies are unending.
Too infinite to grasp.
He hold us in the darkest time
When mystery shrouds all around,
To give me yet another day so bright
He never lets me go far from his sight.
His mercies are new every morning.
Newer than the new day that has come.
His mercies are like the sand on the seashore
Who can ever count the grains?
His mercies are new every morning.
His love is the same always.
His love gives strength and purpose
To embrace his mercy and never let him go.
