In life, we all like to hear, see, know and even experience a love out of the normal, routine, ordinary and even the winning ones.
We either read books with compatible love stories from different authors, watch movies of great love stories of war and sacrifice. We go to extreme lengths to even find the perfect love story in our life.  All this is very good because Love is the main diet in the beats of life.

A never seen before love was seen only once on this earth. On a hot and dusty afternoon, a woman stood at the side of a road as she watched her son pass by. Her son was bleeding, skin torn from being scourged, head covered in blood from a crown of thorns on his head, his eyes veiled in blood, carrying a heavy wooden cross.
The affliction of this woman can never be fully grasped by us, the love that she held on to even in the midst of this agonising journey to watch. A love that she held out to both her son and his father in heaven.

The son too in spite of bleeding profusely was intent of carrying his Cross to the top of a rugged hill. He willingly stretched out his arms to be nailed to this cross. For three hours the world witnessed not just the love between the son and his mother but also the love between the father in heaven and his son as he watched him in his painstaking suffering. The Son who gave it all with the last drop of blood shed which has now become for us the most precious blood.
We call upon the merits of the Lord's blood to this day to heal, protect, save, guide and guard us. This precious blood is a hedge around our lives where no external force can barge in to harm us. His blood delivers us in all circumstances. The love in his blood continues to flow through the generations.

St. Catherine of Siena honoured the blood of Jesus with a special prayer, 'Precious Blood, Ocean of Divine Mercy; flow upon us.! Precious Blood, Most pure Offering; Procure us every Grace! Precious Blood, Hope and refuge of sinners; Atone for us! Precious Blood, Delight of holy souls; Draw us!'
This precious blood is the redeeming blood, the healing blood and the permanent mark on us that will seal our entrance into his heavenly abode.

The feast of the Precious Blood of Jesus is commemorated on the 1st of July and this month is totally dedicated to the blood of Christ.
Though we were not present on the day Jesus fulfilled the law to the last word as prophesied about him, we did not see or witness the blood that gushed forth from his wounds, yet we apply his divine blood on our lives because his blood is the ransom price for us. His is the blood of the new and eternal covenant poured out for the forgiveness of sins as we celebrate the mystery of his body and blood at every Eucharist.
May our hearts too pour out love in a never seen before gesture as our eternal gratitude to the great outpouring of blood by our Divine Lord.
