Recently a young man went on a killing spree in southern Bucks County, PA, murdering his stepmother, his 13 -year-old sister and the mother of his children, and he beat his girlfriend's mother with the butt of his AR 15 style gun. He also hijacked a car. In the aftermath of this egregious act, the secular worldview, as reported in media, explained why it happened.

The secular source reasoned that the killer may have had mental health problems and that he just didn't get the help he needed. So then, humans are just like a machine that needs maintenance and repair when something goes wrong, according to this view. One of my relatives added, that maybe the reasoning by the secular world is that he had the wrong kind of medication and needed to change it. This view offers no accountability on the part of the perpetrator and that everything is someone else's fault or, to borrow a phrase from Three Stooges Curly, he was "a victim of soy cum stances!"

Showing a Christian worldview of the murder, a local pastor went on Facebook livestream the day of the incident and saw what happened as a result of a broken world. Since the fall in The Garden of Eden, sin entered the world and the devil roams around like a prowling lion. The killing spree was a manifestation of sin in a broken world. We are all sinners, and sometimes it gets ahold of people and they commit tragic acts. The way to overcome sin is through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

As ambassadors of the Word, Christians need to reach out and speak the truth in love.
"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God." -2 Corinthians 5:20
