Remember Your Heavenly Identity

John 12: 10-11 (Kjv)

    Many know the story of dead Lazarus being brought alive from the grave by the power of Jesus. When He heard of his friend’s death, the Son of God at last, arrived to perform this miracle. After this, Lazarus began living again, He may have had a new appreciation for life than he had before his previous death. He may have valued time more around those he cared for. He may have appreciated the view of a sunrise in the early morning than he ever had before. But ironic as it might seem, The miracle Jesus accomplished upon this man’s life, also meant his potential death once more. He was guilty of only one thing, He knew Jesus and His power, His grace, This was his only so-called crime, But whether Lazarus was now aware of it or not, he had his share of enemies. The religious leaders of that time were meeting together, seeking to end his second chance at life, only because he was a living miracle, a witness to what Jesus could do, and because of that, many people were believing on Him. When others see Jesus in you, and working through you, when they know there lies a miracle on your life you did not place there, but He did, This is when the true enemy, the father of lies, our real adversary, the devil sees your life as a target. Because of the One living in you, The One using your hands and feet as His own to touch the ones around who are hurting, some who are sadly on their way to a real place called Hell. Jesus living inside of His born again children, that in itself makes us as Christians targets in the sight of the devil. He desires to hinder our effectiveness for Christ. He wants to discourage you. He wants you to give up in this race God has called us to run. It is not a race for quitters, The apostle Paul himself said, I run that I may obtain the prize. The enemy will do anything he can to try and halt our spiritual progress, He will try his best to silence us, if not by death, He certainly has his methods. He will tell us lies about ourselves. We must take every thought captive. Remember who you are. Know your true value, and who it comes from.. Jesus. Cling to the promises He has made to you, If there is one thing He cannot do, it is He cannot be dishonest toward us, He is faithful. He loves and has not forgotten you. Many of us have the enemy on our backs, as the bible says, seeking in order to devour, or as it is stated in the words of Jesus in another place, concerning Satan, He comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy. It is because of what we have been given from our God, that is influence. You are significant to Him, Your value to Him is priceless, and now He has chosen you and myself to touch the ones who are wandering down the roads of this earth without hope. We know not many details about Lazarus’s life, nor what happened to him after the leaders consulted among themselves desiring to murder this man. Was he careful to take heed of every move he made, aware of the wanted posters with his face printed on them, not knowing who might be around the corner, waiting to kill him? One thing is known for certain, if the enemy desires your life, God wants your life so much more, only with great purposes in mind. When the devil speaks lies over us, God is speaking truth over you and I. We are worth more than we can ever comprehend, through the eyes of God. The life of Lazarus was important to Jesus. If not by words, certainly by the witness of his life alone, many people were believing on God’s Son. In the way of conclusion, I will end with a quote I created one day, this was written in relation to Mary who worshiped Jesus with her hair, tears, and box of perfume, But I believe it can be used concerning every person’s life on this earth. This is it: What some may say is a waste, God calls treasure. No matter what, You are not a waste, you are not junk, You are precious Gold in the treasure room of God. Continue to shine for His glory, do not allow the enemy to stop you or slow you down. Stand strong in Jesus, remembering His miracles in your life, all He has accomplished to show His goodness to you. He is not finished with you, Remember your heavenly identity, Forgiven, Justified, Redeemed, a child of the living God.
