He Remembers You

2 Samuel 7: 8 (KJV), 18- 21 (KJV)

   In the book of Psalm, Chapter 145, verse 9, it says, The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. And one person of Faith in God, out of the many who saw this truth, through experience and in life, was a man, King David. The same man who at one time had conquered over the giant man, known as Goliath. This one, now King, was only anointed in this royal position, because God saw fit to make him so, and He also saw for David's life even what he himself probably never saw, until it happened, and he wore the crown. This poet, king, warrior, all rolled into one package, had another resume, and if he would have been interviewed for the job position of being king, he could have said something like this... Oh yeah... I almost forgot.. ummm, I was also a shepherd, uhhh... You know, watching over sheep. Who knows how that would have played out, unless the One interviewing Him just happened to be the Creator of the universe, and the only One who can ever truly see us, our future, who we are to become, our potential, yes, God alone sees it all from Heaven. He knows the plans He has for our lives, and knows where you have been and how far He has carried you in life, just like He knew concerning David. He realizes where and how far He will take us, God is aware of all these things, though we cannot always see it, and contrary to how you might be feeling, faith knows that God is so very good to us, every one, and He loves us deeply, no one can love us more than Jesus, no one is powerful enough to protect us like He is. You see, David knew the life of a shepherd boy, but also knew the ultimate good Shepherd, who is our amazing God, who watches over us, He sees, and He cares about what concerns us, and is with us all, though we cannot see Him, He is there always, and has not forgotten you, always thinks of you, with thoughts of peace, not thoughts of evil, His are gracious concerning you, We are special to Him, precious in His sight. The sheepcote had once been home to David, the place where he really lived in the midst of the sheep, to watch over them, to protect and provide. In Psalm 23 we see that the shepherd has both a rod in one hand, in the other a staff. A rod used to defend and protect the sheep at any cost from other large animals that might threaten their safety. The staff used to comfort the sheep, to pull them back toward himself. The shepherd loves the sheep, it is not only his job, but it is a needful, and yet costly occupation, to value and be completely devoted to these above one's own life. Is that not what Jesus did for us, He said, Satan, you cannot have my sheep, and so, our Rescuer laid down His own life, bound to the wooden cross, He humbled Himself, became obedient to God, the Father, even unto death. And He now lives in victory, He still remembers you and I. He remembered David, says to Him, I took you from the sheepcote, such a humbling and lowly beginning, that I might bring you into the palace. And I really do love David's response toward God, he says, Who am I? And then he says, thank you, God, there is none like you, this was such a small thing to you, for you to show to me your grace. Time and time again, He is always being good to us as well. Thank Him today, where ever you find yourself at today, in the quiet, or even in the noise and business of the season, try to find a place by yourself, alone with God, and say Thank you. For being so good to me, for forgiving me, proving your love for me. Praise Him today, raise your arms up to praise the One who has made us, it is not we ourselves, but we are the sheep of His pasture. Sing for Him a song, you may not sing very well, I know I do not, but it is not about how good or bad you sing, it is about Him, and He desires our praise. How we praise Him, what it looks like, does not matter, just as long as it magnifies God, the bible says: Laud Him. That word means to give a commendation for someone, and God does not need us to commend Him, but He does desire it. Thank Him. Praise Him, He alone is the exalted One, truly above all. His name alone is the only one that really matters. Remember Him. He remembers you. And there is always something to be thankful for. Sit before Him today, and let Him remind you of the great things He has done, all of them, just for you.
