The Heavenly Man

“As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly.
And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.”  1 Corinthians 15:48-49. 

What a glorious title for Jesus - the Heavenly Man!
Fully human yet fully divine. It’s not easy to grasp that wonderful truth. In coming to live on Earth, our blessed Lord did not forfeit his divinity. And by becoming man he identified himself with you and me in the most glorious way.

“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Hebrews 4:15.

Today, when we are tempted, he does not condemn us. Just as he defeated the devil’s temptations to sin, so Jesus right now can enable us to defeat our common enemy.

There is victory in Jesus.
Victory in our glorious Saviour.
Victory through the Heavenly Man!
Hallelujah!
