WHOSE IDEA IS IT?

   I was reflecting on my life one day, and felt sad in my heart.  I thought back over the years, dreams I'd had, plans I'd made, places I would go, and things I would do for the Lord.  I asked, "Where have I gone for you, Lord?  Nowhere.  I've gone nowhere."  I felt such sorrow, guilt, and shame, that here I was in my senior years and had gone nowhere for God.   
   I was not expecting an answer because I knew the answer.  But instantly, in my spirit I heard him say,  "You're going somewhere for me tomorrow."  I gasped. It was more real than an audible voice, and I responded with,  "Where am I going for you tomorrow, Lord?" Instantly, I remembered.  
   My sister-in-law, Roberta, was due for a dangerous surgery the next day, just an hour's drive away. I wanted to pray for her before she had surgery, so my husband and I planned to be there bright and early.   I now realized it wasn't my idea, but God's!  The Lord, Himself, was sending me!  I wasn't going just because I cared.  I was being sent on an assignment by my Father. 
   I asked him to forgive me for thinking I'd gone nowhere in His name, for his purposes.  I wondered how many other assignments He had sent me on, and I had thought they were my own idea.     
   Early next morning, as we entered Roberta's room, I felt as though we were standing on Holy ground; and in a sense, we were, for the Lord was there.   We prayed for her, believing God would bring her safely through; and He was faithful.  
   No, the Lord hadn't sent me to China or England, or even to another state, but just one hour away someone had needed the 'prayer of faith'.  
   Location means nothing to God.  He isn't interested in how many miles we log for Him.   He is always leading and guiding on the path of righteousness, for His name's sake.  Even when we think it's our own idea.
