                        THINK LIKE GOD THINKS

O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.
Psalm 139:1-3 ESV

A well-recognized pastor shared, ‘Meditation is to enlighten the mind to think like God thinks.’ Over my own years in serving and teaching I would share, ‘to really get to know someone, you have to spend a lot of time with that person.’ That’s how it must be to really get to know our Lord. To want a personal intimate relationship with Him, we must not be a casual acquaintance with Jesus. Meditation upon God’s word, and listening for Spiritual promptings, especially in prayer, should not be mediocre.

When I would stand and preach before my audience, I had to prepare my message. I wanted those listening to receive not just words spoken, but an introduction to the One who loves and cares for us. I wanted my audience to understand personal love and intimacy with our Lord.  Invitation for them also to recognize His deep love for us. To purpose their living with desire for intimacy with the One who is our intercessor. (cf: Romans 8:35)

God, who created us knows us much better than we know Him. For each of us to truly want to know Him in an intimate way, should we not purpose our living to want to think like He thinks?

Father, thank you teaching me to want to think like you.
