“Then Jesus said, ‘Make the people sit down.’ Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, ‘Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.’ ” John 6:10-12

What a thought provoking example of extravagance without waste. Jesus provided for the 500 and could have provided for a thousand times more but when the people had all they needed to appease their hunger, Jesus was concerned that the left-overs be not wasted.

He could have let that which was remaining dissolve into the ground but the disciples gathered it up for another day.

The LORD God is the Perfect Combination of all traits and His wise and sovereign rule in all things, however practical, can never be thwarted and should never be doubted.
