Jesus knew Judas Iscariot would betray him. He had known it since the beginning. But what did He do with that piece of knowledge? He simply put the intentions and the situation into His Father’s hands. It was a curse for Judas, but a part of the fulfillment of Jesus’ spiritual journey in the flesh.

How painful it is when someone close betrays you! It can develop into hatred for that person – that is so normal in the flesh. But how beautiful it is to learn from Jesus, to place the situations and intentions into God’s hands! Who knows? What if, by facing the betrayal of another, you might be fulfilling part of, or completing a stage of his or her spiritual journey, or even yours? The burden is on the one with wrong intentions, not yours. By inviting God into the situation, you take a step towards developing an understanding of the values of God’s Kingdom and your life in Christ.

Jesus was focused; not burdening himself by the betrayal, but moving towards his destiny, for he knew the crown of glory awaited Him. We might have to pass through tough situations too, but God’s glory awaits the righteous. The flesh will do its work, but it cannot outdo the works of God’s Kingdom. No one can change your destiny as long as you keep trusting Jesus and remain focused on Him. Only the freedom to choose the flesh in response to a situation could keep you from experiencing God’s blessings, not anyone else’s betrayal. Let’s choose to do things Jesus' way whenever we are betrayed.
