                           ARE WE THERE YET?

Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord. Psalms 27:14 NASB 1995

Many times as young children my sister and I sitting in the back seat of dad’s 1939 Chevrolet on our way to Grandma’s, we would ask this. Those early days of our youth, before Interstate freeways, it was about a six hour drive where we lived in Wisconsin to visit Grandma in Iowa.

Putting this in context of our Spiritual walk through faith, I find there are two important truths to observe. Seeking solitude with patience from our Lord, regarding refuge and redemption, those we pray for. The second is recognizing how we learn to be without anxiousness or fear, waiting upon God’s power and preeminence to see the result of His written promises.

God is indeed our refuge-the light of our hope. Never dread concerns we commit to God in prayer. Balancing individual responsibility, to wait upon our Lord, for sure, is growing and learning to find His sufficiency. John the Baptist said it so well.  ‘He must increase, but I must decrease.’ John 3:30

God’s Spirit must rule over any emotional fear. Attempting to think God doesn’t understand, or believe we have to help God in situations, can often be hindrance and delay for the best result.

Learn to be more like Mary.
But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42

Father, thank you for leading me to never be in a hurry.
