Wait

I’m pretty poor at waiting.
I like to get things sorted.
To get things done.
I specially dislike having to wait for other folk to do what I think they should.
I’m not too good at waiting in church either.
Why doesn’t the preacher get on and preach the Gospel we all need to hear?
Why doesn’t the pianist get a bit livelier with this chorus?
Impatient.
That’s me.
All over.
I’ve got it right and other folk are wrong.
Thankfully, the Lord is very patient with me.
He waits ages for me sometimes, till I get his message and do what’s right.
Wonderfully, he speaks so often about my impatience in his precious Word.

“Wait on the Lord. Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord!” Psalm 27:14.
“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.” Psalm 37:7
“I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined to me, and heard my cry.” Psalm 40:1
“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope.” Psalm 130:5.

I hope you’re a much better waiter than me!
