Grace is Not Cheap

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" -Romans 6: 1,2

A headline in The Western Journal reads: " Franklin Graham Gives Christan Music Star Amy Grant a Reality Check Straight from the Bible After Her Gay Wedding Announcement."

Amy Grant and her husband will co-host the same-sex wedding of her niece. For Amy, the important thing is not obeying God's commands, but rationalized "Jesus, you just narrowed it down to two things: love God & love each other." Amy Grant has a history of supporting homo promo.

Jesus said "If you love Me, keep My commandments" -John 14:15.

Of course Christians, including myself, slip up and sin. But as the apostle Paul said, we don't let sin dominate our lives.

In the book of Titus, we read of the young pastor on the island of Crete who faced false doctrine in the church. One of the false doctrine factions believed that because God's grace was sufficient for salvation, that sin could increase and immoral behavior was okay. We are saved by grace, but this is cheap grace, a counterfeit.

Likewise, Paul had a problem with the immorality of the Corinthians. Just as the Godly man Franklin Graham spoke out against Amy Grant's false doctrine, Paul wrote a letter admonishing the Corinthians to stop the wanton sinning and return to God's ways. He writes in the aftermath of the letter: "I am not sorry that I sent that severe letter to you, through I was sorry at first, for I know it was painful to you for a little while. Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways." -2 Corinthians 7:8,9

Our nation is spiritually bankrupt. Christians, including Christian music icons, need to speak the truth in love. That's the only hope for our nation and for people. We need to listen to "the counsel of the elders", in this case, Franklin Graham.

"if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." -2 Chronicles 7:14
