"She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." -Proverbs 31:26

"Mother's Day was founded to honor motherhood and family life at a time of rising feminist activism" reads a plaque that was erected across from the Wanamaker store. John Wanamaker supported Mother's Day. It was founded by Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, officially observed in 1908 and given federal recognition in 1914.

Giving birth, taking care of physical needs and nuturing children is a selfless act on the part of mothers. They take care of them when they are sick, confort them in times of trouble, change their diapers, feed them, help them with homework and just are there for them. It is an act of love. Mothers deserve recognition.

Contrary to those who want to sacrifice and care for children are the pro choice choice activists, who think they have the right to snuff out a life because it cramps their style and become rabid towards anyone who even wants to discuss ending their choice to take a life.

In his essay, "The Me Decade and the Third Great Awakening", American author Tom Wolfe coined the phrase "Me Decade" to describe the self aggrandizing trend of people during the 1970s. Feminism is one example in his list of things being about the me decade. He wrote about them declaring "it's my body, my career, my child" etc.

My mother brought me up in the admonition of the Lord, in thought and in deed.

Throughout the years she'd give me aphorasms, usually in a fitting context. "God is not the author of sin, safety is not the absence of danger, but the presence of God" were among them.

"Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him." Psalm 127:3
