Looking

If you are out and about a good bit around Christmas, there are loads of things to look at. Much of our commercial industry is dedicated to attracting our attention.
However, not every item or object is good for us to look at.
Jesus warned us that our eyes can be dangerous! He said: ‘Your eye can cause you to sin’. Mark 9:47
It’s certainly a serious matter for us at this season to be careful what we look at.

In the Bible, God tells us of the perfect remedy for our wandering eyes:
“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Hebrews 12:2.

100 years ago, Helen Lemmel wrote the song: ‘O soul, are you weary and troubled?’
Listen to her chorus:
    “Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
     Look full in His wonderful face,
     And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
     In the light of His glory and grace.”
