         Walking ‘In Jesus’ - Rest from Uncertainty

‘For whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.’ Hebrews 4:10 ESV

Today, we can appear anxious over everything we’re about. Some might feel burdened with too much work load, or maybe needed employment. Children’s academic challenges, striving to be the best, or too much school activities, thinking, “What’s really essential and necessary?”

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 We’re continually growing and learning throughout our days.

To allow the ‘old self’ to pass away, is to understand what it means to; ‘die to ourself every day. Learning more heavenly concerns and values. (cf: Luke 9:23-25) As we purpose ‘to walk in Jesus,’ God identifies the standards for us to follow. That which is NOT discontentment and trauma.

To illustrate, we become what we feed on. We’re not to become another emotional ‘traumatized victim from  fear and insecurity. Turning on the evening news, I’ve become more discerning to what’s really essential for me. Especially news broadcasts. TV viewing is not confronting my circumstances and tasks before me. But God’s preeminence is recognizing, ‘Greater is He who is in me….’ 1John 4:4

Walking ‘In Jesus,’ is what our Lord proclaimed to Paul. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness….”  2 Corinthians 12:9a

Learning to ‘walk in Jesus,’ we’re shielded with His ‘Hedge of Protection’ about us each hour of the day.

Thank you Lord, for giving us your way of escape from uncertainty… to enter into Your rest. AMEN
