JESUS, THE PEACEMAkER 

     More than at any time in history the world needs peace. Peace, however, is not just the absence of conflict; it is a calmness within a person no matter what is going on in the world or in one’s personal life. 

     During the COVID scare much of the world lived in fear. But Jesus said, as quoted in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you, not as the world gives...let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

     So, what is this peace that only Jesus gives? It is peace that passes all human understanding that is unable to be explained on a human level. It can come over a person who is indwelt by God’s Holy Spirit as a result of accepting Jesus as Savior.

     The world has gotten to the point to where the global population is crying out for a person to bring peace to Planet Earth. Well, no human can bring lasting peace. Only Jesus can. Perhaps, your own personal world, or the world in general, has made you so frightened that you need a peace that does not depend upon world events or the absence of personal battles. 

     This troubled world, however, does not have to be one’s final home. Jesus has gone to prepare a place for those who call upon Him for salvation. Your afterlife can be one of total and eternal peace. 

     In John 14:4 Jesus told his disciples, “you know the way to where I am going.” One of them asked, “How do we know the way?” Jesus responded with the boldest claim He ever made about Himself: “I am the way, the truth, and the life....” 

     Receivng what THE REAL JESUS can give is the only source of true and total peace.
