             Because I woke Up This Morning

Recently I was listening to a recognized pastor who shared in his message; ‘God loves us because we woke up this morning.’  That really caught my attention because of what it means.

We all face consequences at times in our daily walk ‘in faith,’ that we’d rather not have to deal with. But we learn to let go, attempting through our reasoning to understand. One of my favorite promises of God’s faithfulness to us comes from Numbers 23:19, ‘God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?’ ESV

God uses our storms to bring us to Himself, for His purpose to build our faith. Learning to let go and desire God, most certainly, is a growing and learning, to recognize His leading over our reasoning.    

Because of His abiding presence, each day when I wake, I’m reminded; ‘This is the day the Lord has made, let  us (me) rejoice and be glad in it.’ Psalm 118:24 (My emphasis) Yes… because when I wake up each new day, the preeminence of His abiding power is there in me, to lead and direct my thoughts. My actions are intended for His honor, not about myself.

Father, thank you for waking me this morning. That I take time to measure my day. Recognizing the value of your presence in me to lead and instruct. Over the years how your grace has been my sufficiency. How your power is at work in my weakness as your Holy Spirit rests upon me. AMEN
