                                   Our ‘New Life’ to Live

But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:31 ESV

I remember back many years when two of my sons signed up to serve in the military. The older one gave nearly 10 years serving in the U. S. Navy. There happened to be an occasion that came up and I shared with him;  “There’s more than putting on the uniform to be qualified to honor the name.” He was a fire control officer aboard a destroyer, when sent to the Persian Gulf after ‘Desert Storm’ way back in 1991.

We too… as we wear the name Christian, have our ‘New Life’ now under the preeminence of Jesus. To be worthy of who our Lord wants us to be. Having life in His name. He will indeed equip us for the task before us. To remember, we ought not to go beyond what God want’s from us.

Our daily life’s experiences are a measure of faith for us, to complete our challenges. God equips us for the task. Like my son, who experienced a lot of training to wear the name, and position, of his responsibilities.

Our Lord will not allow us to go beyond what He knows we cannot deal with. God will always show us the way of escape. (CF: 1 Corinthians 10:13) I’ve been ever so blessed and thankful, learning to let Him lead.  

Father, we wear the name of Jesus, by faith, living our ‘New Life to live in HIM.’ Expand our borders in your power and sufficiency, not ours. AMEN
