                           Live Like you Belong

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?.  Psalm 27:1 ESV

David’s 27^th Psalm written at a time he was seeking refuge from King Saul. He shares his deep confidence to trust our Lord over his own feelings.

Remember when we heard about the House of Representatives attempting  to codify Justice Alito’s concerns on 1973 Roe vs. Wade. That word codify, is to arrange rules into a systemic code or standard to suit one’s own desires into law, especially in the political realm.
We too, must be ever so careful not to codify our Lord’s word for our benefit. Satan works overtime disguising himself as an angel of light, wanting us to stumble.[2 Cor11:14]

David asked for God’s ‘Hedge of Protection’ to keep seeking the Lord’s preeminence over his own feelings. 

Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence. I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Psalm 27:12-14 ESV

To wait upon God’s word and Spiritual promptings will direct the steps of our path into His presence. We are God’s workmanship. By grace through faith alone, for His purpose and honor. The peace God brings is not absence of stress, but the presence of  the Savior through our circumstance.   

Father, as you did for David, teach us to live like we belong, not of the flesh, but of the Spirit.
