 You MUST Be Lost To Find Your Way

^‘Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.’ Mathew 10:39 ESV

Most of us who traveled to someplace we’ve never been before have probably experienced making a wrong turn. Taking a wrong exit onto an unknown road. Only to have your children ask, “when will we be there?” Especially before the days of a GPS navigational system in your car.  

 Our Lord’s direction for living is ‘We’ve to find the new way to live, our path to life by being lost to the old.’

A paradox appearing as a contradiction. Why must I get lost to find where I’m going? Regeneration is walking by the preeminence of God’s GPS system, His Holy Spirit. Learning to let go the old fleshly ‘self.’ Recognizing instruction to His ‘Narrow path’ defined for us.

 “Heaven can be entered only through the narrow gate! The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide enough for all the multitudes who choose its easy way.  But the Gateway to Life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it. Mathew 7:13-14TLB

Our growing and learning is a journey recognizing God’s path to abundant life. Prompting us to find His narrow gate for living life. The world we are in is the ‘wide way,’ our Lord wants us to separate from.

Learning to lose our way from the world of uncertainty around us, is blessing far greater than being tossed and blown like sand on the seashore.

Father, teach us to discern how to lose ourselves for you, stepping onto your ‘narrow path of joyful living!’ AMEN
