                                  Eternity is Not Time

 As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 ESV

Have you ever had anyone ask you… “What is Eternity?”  Consider this as an answer; eternity is without beginning and it is without end. One might give reference to John 8:58, when Jesus spoke; ‘Before Abraham was, I am…’ or, quote Genesis 1:1-2, or, John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

But in these verses there is implication of a beginning. This becomes a challenge to recognize; Creation always was. What Paul wrote here in Corinthians, helps us to conclude, it’s not so much to find a definite yes or no answer. But recognize, our purpose and hope, is to understand and believe without seeing.

Eternity  must be recognized as his invitation to ‘know Him!’ Our Lord spoke to the Father in his high priestly prayer;  And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. John 17:3

We were made for eternity, not for this world! As its been said many times before, ‘we’re just passing through, on our journey to continue our joy of living in the presence of God who gave us life. Our life is always, and has been always. God had us in mind even before our own parents knew one another.

Father, thank you for knowing me even from eternity past, and will purpose my eternity future in the presence of Jesus, AMEN
