                                          Our Mediator Intercedes For Us

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27 RSV

As we pray, we have God’s Holy Spirit as our mediator to intercede for the concerns of our heart. Recognizing this as His promise to us. This can lead us away from the weariness and determination of the flesh. To take hold the very power and wisdom of God’s preeminent love and grace.

Also, praying scripture becomes  a wonderful invitation to keep His word in our heart. When praying God’s word, we are praying His promises. Whether it be joy of intimacy, or admonition and warning of consequences. Should we be out of bounds of His will and purpose over some matter before us.

When Joshua led the Nation of Israel across the Jordan River into the Promise land he spoke by the Spirit’s leading.

This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9

Father, we need not fear as you intercede for us.
