Biblical Christian Lions or Cowardly Lions?

Christianity is under attack in America. Forces contrary to the faith are siezing the opportunity, exploiting the pandemic to undermind Christian society.

Time and time again, we see the consequences of Christianity not taking root and failing to influence society. Asked how the church can sit back and let Hitler seize absolute power, German pastor, theologian, martyr and spy Dietrich Bonhoeffer answered "It was the teaching of cheap grace." Mr. Bonhoeffer explains: "Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, communion without confession, absolution without personal confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ."

As was the case in the early church, people are allowing the world to corrupt the church. The problem in America today is not ultimately Red China or drugs. Evil can be conquered by faith. When the church looses its influence over society, it deterorates. Eighteenth century statesman Edmund Burke believed that religion is the foundation of civil society and that Christian faith preserved citizens' constitutional liberties. This belief, Mr. Burke added, benefits not only the beliver's soul but also to political arrangements.

The church needs to stand up for what is right. Believers should not be like the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz but like Biblical lions like Daniel in the lion's den.

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will". -Romans 12:2

In southern Bucks County, PA is an example of churches and other Christian institutions conforming to the fear mongering brought on by worldly influences, such as the CDC and the media, sycopants of the CDC. Many churches, namely ones that used to have sit down meals for the homeless and needy, still do not open their doors to let the homeless in, using the media hype as an excuse. Only one church actually hosts sit down meals for the homeless and those in need, as they have done shortly after Thanksgiving (it actually had a sit down Thanksgiving meal). This church would have hosted the meals a little earlier, but AHTN, the alleged advocates for the homeless and those in need, dragged it's feet getting the word out.

The churches who don't have the faith to reach out to help others are like most of the 12 scouts that God sent out to survey the promised land. The report: "We entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country - a land flowing with milk and honey. There is the kind of fruit it produces. But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak! The Amalekites live in the Negev, and the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the hill country. The Canaanites live along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and along the Jordan Valley". Numbers 13:25-29.

"But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. 'Lets go at once to take the land,' he said. 'We can certainly conquer it'! But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. 'We can't go up against them! They are stronger than we are'! So they spread this bad report about the land amoung the Israelites: 'The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next to the we felt like grasshoppers, and that's what they were too'"! -Numbers 13: 30-33

Hearing this report, the people rebelled, except for Joshua and Caleb, who believed God and tried to convince the people not to be scared. They didn't heed those men true to God and were in contempt of God. Likewise, today we need modern day Calebs to speak the truth in love (but in my case with a little satire) to these folks who would not listen to them and practice faith in God.
