Watchman’s Warning

By Paul Taylor

Happy Sabbath to All

Those of us which study Biblical prophecy, world, and church history, and follow present world events are increasingly aware of the prophetic times we are in, but try as we might to inform others, they seem to shy away from the truth as revealed in God’s word, with a non-chalant  attitude reminiscent of , “Ignore it , and it’ll go away,” but  in the end will prove to be disastrous for these same people.

We have heard the many excuses from the scoffers with their mocking, and blasphemous attacks against the  scriptures such as “That has been said for thousands of years, and we are still here.” or, “that’s all a myth.” “ The Bible was written by deranged desert dwellers”, and these are just the mild ones.

I have to admit, sometimes we get frustrated and have doubts, but the Holy Spirit kicks in and gives to those truly seeking the truth, that extra jolt of determination to press on and proclaim the warnings. No, I am not, and will not set dates, no man knows the day or the hour, but we are given signs which tell us the nearness of  Jesus’s  arrival for His people. Those studying God’s word and watching world events know there is something in the air.

If the watchman fails to shout a warning of an encroaching omen or disaster, and people die, then he is responsible for the loss of life, and their blood is on his hands. The Bible indicates we are to be diligent in our quest to warn of the nearness of the coming of Jesus for His people. Warn them to be ready with sufficient oil in their lamps to meet the bridegroom.

Ezekiel makes a stunning point of someone knowing of the approaching dangers and failing to warn those in its path.

Ezekiel 33:6-7 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. 7  So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore, thou shalt hear the word at my mouth and warn them from me.

It is my belief that we are now in the final days prior to the culmination of history when Jesus makes His appearance, retrieves His true followers, and lays the earth waste  for the next 1000 years. I believe the 2nd and third Angels messages of Rev.14 are being fulfilled at this very moment. Therefore, it is the obligation and duty of each to warn of the rapidly approaching judgement from God upon this sinful world.

Babylon is fallen, the second angel proclaims. The word Babylon is derived from the word “BABEL”, which means confusion. Look around at the number of Christian denominations, all teaching a different theology, most in contradiction with the Bible. There are so many deceptive teachings in the churches today that one is confused as to which is the truth and which are deceptions. There are so many differing theologies and doctrines concerning the God of creation and His Son Jesus Christ, that the people are blinded from the truth. Matthew 13:14,15 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, by hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see and shall not perceive. 15  For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

The people, over the years of traditional teachings and rituals in the Christian Churches  have become blinded from the truth just as Isaiah prophesied (Isaiah 6:9-10), and as Jesus said in Matthew 13:14,15.

The warnings are being ignored as people continue in their daily lives, following traditions of man and adhering to man’s commandments and traditions rather than God’s, just as  they did in Noah’s day. It seems as though God’s way is not conducive with today’s politically correct society, style, or modern fad and unless you follow man’s traditions you are considered radical, a word I don’t like to use, but I and many more have been accused of being radical and legalistic.

Mark 7:6-9 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

People, it’s time to wake up, trim your lamps with the full spirit of God, things on this earth are about to take a drastic change. Prepare your hearts in the way of God’s true word as written. Put aside the traditions of man by rejecting man and  accepting God’s commandments. This world has nothing to offer but misery and at the end death. Jesus offers an eternal life of unimaginable peace, joy, and love of which our finite minds cannot comprehend for those willing to accept the offer.

Isaiah64:4  For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.  (1 Cor 2:9)

May God add a blessing to the going forth of His word and to those reading it
