Battle Lines Are Being Drawn

The culture war has come become an open battle against Christian values. Some public schools are trying to brainwash children to believe non Christian principles. And there's the media and colleges that undermind Christianity.

There is nothing new under the sun. The world has always been at emnity with the church, with a sometimes hidden, sometimes open fight. The fight is increasingly becoming more open.

"And it is no wonder, for Satan himself masquarades as an angel of light." -2 Corinthians 11:14

More and more, Marxism has been masquarading as racial justice, equality. One relatively recent fraud is Black Lives Matter, a Marxist organization that has been unfairly raking in lots of money and bullying the public. They, and other diabolical organizations have been scheming to cancel our Christian heritage. One way is by spreading the lie the our country is systemically racist. Some point to slavery and Jim Crow. One source told a whopper that the American revolution was initiated to kick England out of our country so we could have slavery. Actually, slavery was rampant in England at the time.

It was through Christ that the evils of slavery and Jim Crow were quashed. Once the captain of slave ships, John Newton, from England, became an abolitionist. This was after having studied Christian theology and after calling out to God for mercy during a violent storm at sea. Mr. Newton's faith drove him to free slaves and work to end slavery. Changing people on the inside, through faith in God, is how to overcome evil, not by programming people through political correctness and changing them from the outside, as the left aims to do.

We are all born in sin. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." -Romans 2:23 God changed John Newton. He wrote Amazing Grace, a hymn well known today, that expresses Newton's conversion:
"Amazing grace
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see..."

The ex slave transporter continues to expound on the doctrine of salvation by grace in the hymn.

The problem with worldly thought is that it lacks absolutes. During the Lincoln Douglas debates over slavery, Fredrick Douglas, representing the views of Dixey Democrats, tried to rationalize the evil that plagued our land. It was only the Biblical arguement that Abraham Lincoln used that won the day.

At a Bible study a few months back, the leader pointed out that Christians can no longer afford being neutral. You must take sides. She said that when she taught the book of Esther at another venue, she wore army fatiques, illustrating that we are engaged in spiritual warfare.

A short story by Richard Wight, a black man who was born in the early 20th century and suffered under real racism, applies to recent events. The story opens with the protagonist looking at rural fields and imagining a communist utopia where everyone owns everything and everyone is equal. In the story, oppressed blacks were approached by communist leaders. A black person from the church remarked that they shouldn't trust the communists because they don't believe in God. So the question is: Who do you follow? Jesus or Karl?

Christians should not put stock in anything that is not based in the Word of God, inside or outside the church. At Bible studies I've attended, leaders emphasized to follow what is true to scripture, and not buy false doctrine, which has polluted the church since the 1st century.

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." -Romans 12:2.
