                     WHAT IS IMPORTANT ABOUT FAITH?

Many are not mindful that our faith is given us from God. It’s not something we manipulate or manufacture through our own resources. This is evidenced from Romans 12.

For by the grace given to me I bid every one among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him. Romans 12:3 RSV [my emphases]

Understanding this brings about a lot less fear over matters we feel we must control. It opens doors to understand God wants to lead us, not follows us.  
Following Jesus, on the narrow path, one recognizes the brightness of His Shekinah light is giving illumination to those dark alleys we sometimes fear. With our Lord leading, we’ll find the gate narrow and hard that leads to life, as referenced from Mathew 7:13-14 But the Way will never be dark and doubtful!

                                Breaking with the past

From Philippians the Apostle Paul is transparent to reveal the importance our faith gives us. For us to let go our determination, to gain His preeminence. 

 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ, and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, based on law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith. Philippians 3:7, 9

What we are about every day is walking with our Lord, taking hold his hand, by faith, recognizing God does equip us with His resources through all of life’s experiences.

 Eternal life does not begin with death; it begins with faith.
