Poetry

What if my voice is silent,
With no word of help or praise?
Refusing to speak Your mercy,
Or lead others into Your ways?

What if I hide my faith,
Concealing the light within..
Hoarding my dying ember,
Smothered beneath my sin?

What if, from fatigue or fear,
I never share my testimony,
But hide behind my reticence
All You have done for me?

The emptiness speaks to me
Of words I’ve never said…
Of opportunity forever lost,
When I choose silence instead.

I have to face this truth,
Though it brings me tears..
What if my voice is the only heaven
They ever get to hear?

As they travel through this life,
Before they pass to eternity..
What if I am the only heaven
They ever get to see?

Daily You speak Your words
Into this heart of mine…
A gift not meant to be hoarded,
But to share with all mankind.
