                                   Recognizing our Faith

Faith is such a precious thing. It’s what we receive from God to demonstrate our new birth. Peter, from his second epistle shares, ‘…To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours.’
2 Peter 1:1 NIV
It truly is precious what faith can accomplish. What we are about every day, our actions, our thoughts put into words, are from faith.

As tiny as a mustard seed, our faith can and will grow and blossom to something beautiful.
 “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Mathew 17:20b

What a promise! I truly believe this promise. But we must recognize the promise in the pretext and context Jesus is sharing this. Not only to His apostles, but to us as well.
If it is within the context and purpose of His will, and to His honor.  We must not forget it must also be in His time, not ours.

Obedience to follow His Spiritual promptings is another factor to the faith God gives us. Look what the Apostle Paul shared of the faith of Abraham.  

No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. Romans 4:20-21 RSV
The moment when God asked Abraham to go, and sacrifice is son Isaac, was obedient faith.
Father, when you ask us also, ‘to go…’ show us your way in your power.
