Encouragement

Ah yes… we’ve all been there. Listening to the young propagators telling us we need to change our ways of evangelism if we are ever going to reach this generation. We have heard the modern evangelist cry out for revival as it were in days of old. We have lent our ear to proven techniques, popular writings and redundant antidotes of a needed awakening in our land. We have been exhorted and some of us contorted in our effort to bring about the desired renewal in our lives.

Is there but only one way to call the revival fire of God down on this nation? Is there but one path in which we can obtain refreshing, renewal or revival in our lives? Is there but one modality of evangelism, one song, one sermon, one preacher able to spark a fire in the hearts of a cold generation?

Come forth we cry to Moses and free us from the bondage we are in! Come Elijah and heal our sons and daughters. Come forth Peter and compel us with the passion of our first love! Come play your instrument David and ward off evil spirits that depress us! Come sing for us and play your tambourine Miriam! Come read God’s Word for six hours to us King Solomon! Come weep for us Jeremiah! Come tell our wicked land that God is going to strike us if we do not repent Jonah! Come point the way to His coming John! Come take upon Yourself - Son of God all the sins of this world that we may not die! Paul, come rebuke us and correct us that we may know Him more!

Have not all of these things been done? Has God not continued in His faithfulness to woo back a wicked nation under His wings? Has He not sent to us modern day prophets to carry on the charge before a weak generation? Are we still blind though Jesus came to open up our eyes of destitution? Do we remain ignorant out of choice or out of depravity of mind?

My heart is bursting in anticipation of what God wants to do for this nation. I am drawn to speak out, to cry out, to sing out and to proclaim freedom to the captives! How will this happen? God has told us what is needed to bring about revival in this nation.

If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Will you take up the charge with us? Will you dare to believe a faithful God at His Word? Unless we lay down our man-made antidotes and sugar coated declarations of peace, we will never see revival happen in our midst or in this lifetime.

If my words have offended you, please forgive. If my words have compelled you to seek God, then simply obey. If I were to remain silent it would be in disobedience to the call upon my life. It is my prayer that together we will usher in God’s Presence upon this land. Will you join us?
