As we begin this third study in Isaiah centered around God’s plan for humanity, our first stop is in chapter 26, verse 3. “The steadfast of mind God will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in Him. Trust in the Lord forever, for in God The Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.” Part of God’s plan for humanity, with everything going on around us, is for each person to experience a peace that can take the place of fear and anxiety.

     We then come to 33:2. “0 Lord, be gracious to us, we have waited for you. Be our strength every morning and our salvation also in the time of distress.” We can call upon God’s grace each and every day.

     A few verses later in 33:6 we read, “God shall be the stability of our times, a wealth of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the Lord is our treasure.” 

     Skipping to 41:10 we find these comforting words. “Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you. Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” God wants people to experience His presence and help.

      Isaiah 50:10 asks, is there a person who “walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.” There is spiritual darkness and deception in our world today. The major part of God’s plan for humanity is for people to come out of spiritual darkness and deception.

     Verses 59:1-2 tell us that “the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; neither is His ear so dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear.” Couple this with 66:3 which says that God is looking for those who are “humble and contrite of spirit, and who tremble at His word.”

     In summary, trusting in God’s plan for humanity means to humble oneself before God, our Creator and Redeemer. Realize that sin has caused a separation. God wants everyone to enter into spiritual truth and light, and as a result experience peace, grace, emotional stability, and His help and presence.
