                      Faith goes beyond our feelings

Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God. Romans 5: 1-2 RSV

These past weeks our fellowship have become ‘of the tech age,’ so to speak. We’re not assembling together Sunday mornings, because of the Covid-19 concern. Our pastors have been encouraging us through the medium of ‘U-tube technology.’ Even our Sunday school class and Wednesday morning prayer group are meeting together through ‘Zoom’ technology. This way we still gather each week from our homes, in fellowship and sharing our hope with one another.

Walking each day, do we endeavor to believe our personal feelings are necessarily from faith, or fear? Throughout these days of national concern, we all may share concern for ourselves and loved ones. But we must remember the power of God’s presence within us. 

God’s peace and presence within us, is result of faith given us, not by our determined will. It is indeed, a given blessing through grace. Taking moments each day, finding treasure to praise God, is a lesson of demonstrating gratitude, and recognizing this faith and love given. The calm to our soul begins, recognizing God’s love and the measure of witnessing His presence. How blessed we are to know God’s hand of grace throughout each moment of the day.

Father, even through these days of national health concern, we still rest upon your authority over every situation before us. Whether we understand it all, but to recognize our faith, goes beyond our feelings. Amen
