                            Righteousness Reigns as a Free Gift

Walking by faith given us we might not always be mindful the power of His Spirit to lead throughout the day. But His preeminence abounds just the same. Moments when fatigue sets in and we just feel spent, uncertain, or anxious, it’s these times we must remind ourselves; God’s free gift of righteousness goes beyond what we might feel. I love meditating and laying up God’s promises in my own heart to find the resource necessary for the moment. I’m ever so thankful for this gift of His righteousness abiding in me.

If, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:17 RSV

Consider this promise, in what His righteousness means and provides? His reigning presence is there in us, and for our moments when anxiousness, might cause doubt of our worth and resource. Righteousness is one of five ‘crowns’ ‘the faithful’ will one day, lay before Him at His throne in glory.

This abundance of grace measured out for us is promise to take hold of in our heart as ‘blessed assurance.’ Assurance to find God’s rest and promised peace throughout these extra busy days of Advent. This ‘free gift of His righteousness’ is thereto love more to those around us, and consider strangers who we might find with need to share Jesus love.

Father, lead us through the presence of your Spirit’s prompting, to look not to our reasoning, but discern to show abundance of grace to those in need.
