                    Do My Actions Match up with Wearing His Name?

I walk ‘In Christ’ through faith, wearing the name ‘Christian,’ so I must determine; what am I about?

“That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.” Philippians 3:10 NASB

To wear the name ‘Christian’ brings a responsibility of being more than just a casual acquaintance with our Lord. I’m learning to purpose my life to have an abiding intimacy. Torecognize His Superior presence and authority over my actions.

Getting to know and understand someone you care about, whether it be a spouse, a family member, childhood friend, a brother or sister of faith, requires spending time with that individual.

How then, should we spend precious time with the One who created us? Prayer, listening God speak, reading and meditating upon biblical promises, memorizing scripture….?  Yes, to all the above, but there’s something that we tend to overlook regarding our responsibility in wearing the name ‘Christian,’ that truly brings Him honor.

Jesus’ mandate for you and me: And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. Luke 9:23 NASB

We’re to ‘put on the whole armor of God…’ because ‘The Power of Darkness,’ will do everything he can for us to stumble, in our desire to know God.

Learning to deny oneself ‘daily,’ becomes our prerequisite or challenge, to find new life. ‘Losing our life’ will result in learning intimacy, surrender to His Lordship.

Then we’ll begin to witness actions worthy of wearing His Name.
