A Thankful Heart

I cannot believe how quickly this year has flown by. It seems like just a few months ago it was Spring and now we are almost at the end of another year. For some, the Thanksgiving Holiday is a day to reflect on all the things we are grateful for. But for me, being grateful and giving thanks to the Lord is a daily routine because He is good and His mercies endure forever (Psalm 100:4-5, NKJV).

Like the Psalmist David, I say, “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together,” (Psalm 34:1-3, NKJV). I am thankful to Jesus for His many blessings. Most of all, I am thankful that Jesus loved me so much and thought me worthy of His precious blood on Calvary. He chose to die in my place and pay my sin debt in full so that I could have eternal life (John 3:16, NKJV). My life is in His hands, and I will never perish (John 10:28-29, NKJV). Hallelujah! My latter days will be better than my former days because I have Jesus in my life. And I know that my Jesus loves me and is with me always. I have nothing to fear (Isaiah 41:10, NKJV).

Jesus loves you very much too! If you have not put your faith in Jesus Christ, what’s stopping you? He is waiting for you. None of us are promised tomorrow. In fact, tomorrow could be too late (Hebrews 9:27, NKJV). When you have Christ, your future is secure in Him, and you will know where you will spend eternity. It’s not hard to ask Jesus into your life. You can say this simple prayer, but you must believe and be sincere.

Dear Lord, please forgive me for my sins. I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross for my sins and rose again and now sits at the right hand of God. Please come into my life in Jesus’s name. Amen. (Romans 10:9-10, NKJV).

That’s it! See how simple that was? And now you know that you have eternal life with Him! You can join me and give thanks to the Lord. He is worthy to be praised.
