                There are times when God does not explain the details. For example, He spoke the end results in the scripture, “Let there be light: and there was light” Genesis 1:3 (KJV). We don’t know the intricate steps that caused light to occur. We just know that what God spoke happened. Just like when He gives us a promise of something that’s going to occur in our lives, He doesn’t explain how it will happen, or how long it will take to manifest His word. We just know that He is God and it is impossible for Him to lie (Hebrews 6:18, KJV). Therefore, we should have confidence in what God states because it will come to pass in our lives, if we believe Him.

                Waiting for divine results from God is difficult. The realities we experience in the natural world on a day-to-day basis can contradict what God tells us about our future. We wonder how what He says can possibly occur based on our circumstances or condition. This is why as time passes, we can get discouraged and begin to question if we understood the promise we initially believed God stated to us. We might even question our recollection so severely that we stop looking for the promises altogether. What is the core of this dilemma? Are we doubting God or our understanding of His promises to us?

                Here is where faith comes in.  According to Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (KJV).  On a daily basis, we may not have any proof that the promises of God are true. But, those promises of God will happen in His time and not a minute before. In the meantime, we as children of the Sovereign God must learn patience as we go through the process of waiting for God’s promises to manifest or show up in our lives.  It is at the point where our teeter totter faith changes and we show a relentless, confident belief in God that His timing of the manifestation breaks into the natural world and we see the promise fulfilled. An example is Sara, Abraham’s wife. “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.” Hebrews 11:11 (KJV).

                Sometimes it is not about our deep, unshakeable faith. God is such a loving Heavenly Father. He sees our pain and sorrow. He knows about the deep despairs we are facing in our lives. Suddenly, we can have a divine moment, meaning that soft, still voice tells us something to look forward to – a promise! When He declares a promise we know that it comes from a source other than ourselves.  We then must sustain heartfelt, confident faith to believe and trust in God’s promises to come to pass no matter how long it takes. The promise could occur instantly, or take days, months, or years to show itself. God’s timing is perfect.  We can’t let go of our Heavenly Father (Matthew 6:9). He will come through. He cannot lie.
