         Trust is an important ingredient in all human interactions. The level of trust will determine the level of blind faith an individual will have in the words that come out of another person’s mouth. Trust in another individual can go from high to low levels and back and forth, like an ocean tide. At some point, childlike trust diminishes and an individual will stop and ponder if the other party is worthy of their trust. An assessment can be made based on prior interactions between individuals to evaluate whether that person could be counted on to keep their word. If one individual decides that their childlike trust and blind faith in the other party has reaped mostly low levels of trust, then this broken trust assessment could lead to complete mistrust. If this occurs in a friendship, a marriage, or any other types of relationships, then only consistent actions that demonstrate word-keeping behavior over a long period of time can revive this broken trust. 

        On the other hand, the truest recipient of our trust is a higher source. An individual can engage in childlike and blind trust in this higher source because broken and revived trust is never a part of the nature of a Holy God. If He makes a promise, He will keep it. His word states in Isaiah 55:11 that, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where to I sent it (KJV).” It is important for humans to have interactions with others and to build trustworthy relationships. However, we should never minimize the urgency of keeping daily close ties with the One that will never let us down. Daily quiet time with prayer, meditating on His valuable word, and asking and listening for guidance in small and big decision matters will help individuals to live a confident life knowing that no matter what negative things we endure including persecution, our end is with Him. Therefore, we should endeavor to stay free of contamination from worldly thinking and actions, free of fear, and stand as expected for righteousness (2Timothy 3:16, 17) as children of light knowing that having confidence in the truest recipient of our trust has everlasting benefits.
