The Lord is not short on ways he can teach his children, one very effective way is pain.
The Lord does not afflict willingly, but will only do those things that will be for our gain.

If you start out a little dull, he can increase the intensity, until our full attention he has got.
And if he has to he can turn your life into a pillar of salt, just like he did for the wife of Lot.

Pain can be dull, and continual. And if it remains for extended periods of time will rob the Christian of joy.
Yet judgment is the Lord’s strange work, seeing that he gives all things for his children to richly enjoy.

God’s children at best are frail creatures, and are subject to an array of negative dispositions that gain our control.
Pain accompanying these times intensifies the trial, we must consider that God says this is more precious than Gold to your soul.

Sometimes the Lord allows pain to come in cycles with welcome times of respite that the Lord allows us in between.
The Lord teaches us during these good, and hard times as he gently pulls our hearts from this world to which it naturally clings.

The bible mentions the Lake of Fire being so bad, that its occupants gnaw on their tongues, wailing, cursing, in the constant pain.
But everyone in that place of torment chose it over heaven in this life, and they will not have one person they can blame.

When a Christian endures pain in this life they can know that the Master Potter is grinding, shaping, forming, his clay.
Because you must needs be prepared as a lovely bride for a groom that epitomizes love on their soon coming wedding day.

So, the next time some pain joins itself to you, the Christian can know that it is for their good, for you to profit withal.
You can know that you have been made a partaker of the Divine Nature, having answered the Lord’s effectual call.

Also know that the Lord is merciful even in judgment, and even more so with those possessing a broken spirit, and contrite heart.
Also realize that if you’re sidelined with some pain for a season the joy that will be yours when relief is granted you in part.

Looking unto Jesus, the Author, and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross,
Despising the shame, and why did Jesus endure such contradictions of sinners against himself? For a few sheep, blind and Lost.
