At this point in life I have many blessed, precious memories. Even in this area of life though no victory can I claim.
For all memories I have worth mentioning were wrought by God, all others were produced in vain.

Memories of my childhood are not harsh ones, but filled with many kindnesses from those with whom I was raised.
Only when I sought to control my own life, from that point on are the ones that I wish I could have erased.

But they remain, forever engraved as pictures in the greatest of detail, stored up in the album of my own mind.
At times these memories come up refusing to leave, and this is usually at the most inopportune times.

I’m not able to sort the file deleting unwanted memories as if I could walk to a trash can and throw them away.
This world is not my home, this place is not my rest and the memories I made are with me for a season to stay.

Yet out of God’s undeserved mercy to me he has afforded me many years of blessed, happy memories that help fill my mind.
And I get to enjoy these in the company of wholesome friends, and loving family members many countless times.

Don’t ever take this for granted, for many young children have no pleasant memories to recall from their youth.
For they have been abused by those with whom they were most vulnerable, some too young to even speak the truth.

Others have memories of family member’s being victims in tragic events, and that scene plays over vividly in their minds.
Years later, after many other of life’s circumstances, this one event still dominating their life after years of time.

The dividing factor here is the Mercy of God. It is not of our own merit if hurtful memories are not part of our lot.
I want to thank him for the miracle, and memory of the night he visited me with Salvation, though willing, I was not.

I have many blessed memories of raising my family in God’s will, even though I was opposed by others that I love.
My wife and children have given me much happiness, beautiful memories being sent to me from God above.

The Lord has also given me many years with wholesome friends, none of which have ever tried to lead me into sin.
All these years spent with the same preacher that delivered to me the Gospel, and has proved closer than any friend.

He has given me a beautiful and dear wife that has been by my side through pleasant times, and times of unwavering grief.
And these he gives me, undeserved at his hand, and I think he will continue blessing my life with fruitful memories is my belief.
