There comes a choice for most
It can result in pure elation or make you roast
The time for engagement is the beginning
Many at the time expect nothing but winning

The facts remain people change
Nobody wakes up the next day the same
A ring to symbolize the new connection
But a lifetime ahead to possibly go different directions

Relationships take time to build
So be sure that you maintain the proper will
Because if there is the slightest doubt
There’s no issue with waiting it out

You have to know that both sides are strong
Otherwise the bond can break at the slightest wrong
It takes two to make things work
One side isn’t meant to just be there for perks

If only many more focused on the depths
Perhaps many more marriages wouldn’t meet their deaths
The engagement begins the process of promise
And vows need to represent the definition of honest
