Are we made righteous in sight of God by our faith or our deeds?

If Good deeds had made Abhraham acceptable to God, he would have had something to boast about! But that was not God's way! For scriptures tell us
"Abraham believed God and God counted him righteous because of his faith!"

When people work hard, their wages are not gift, but something they have earned! But people are not counted righteous because of their work but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners!

David said:
Oh, what joy for those
Whose disobedience is forgiven,
Whose sins are put out of sight.
Yes, What joy for those
Whose record the Lord has cleared of sin."

God's promise to give Abraham his descendants was not based on his obedience on God's law but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith!

If God's promise is only for those who obey law then faith is not necessary and promise is pointless! For the law brings punishment on those who try to obey it! The only way to avoid breaking the Lord is to have no law to break!

So the promise is received by faith! It is given to us as a free gift! We are all certain to receive it if we have faith like Abraham!

Abraham's body was weak as dead and so was Sarah's womb! But Abraham believed and his faith grew stronger in God!

Though he was weak and Sarah was like barren land, though there was no hope in human knowledge or to human eye, Abraham believed that God is able to do what he promises! Hence he received his promised child Isaac at the age of 100 but also brought Glory to God!

Hence, we are all made righteous through our believe in God who raised Christ from dead! With Christ our sins died and he was raised to life to make us right with God!
But doesn't mean we must take advantage of his grace! Everyday we must try to obey him and give God glory and trust in him that he will save us through Christ! We must have faith in him no matter what! Even if your situation is as dead as Abraham's body or Sarah's womb! Amen
